Show Wedding Bells. A very pretty wedding took place Wednesday evening, Sept. 16, at St. Francis de Sales church, on South Sherman and Alameda avenues, when Alice E. McGuire, one of the most pou-ular pou-ular young women of the south side, became the bride of Thomas M. Carroll. Car-roll. The ceremony was performed by the pastor, Rev. J. J. Donnelly, before the altar, which was banked with palms, ferns and dahlias of all shades artistically arranged. Professor Ness orchestra furnished the music. The bride, wearing an exquisite gown of white net and taffeta, entered the church on the arm of her father. T. F McGuire. Her shower bouquet was of I daisies and valley 'Hies. Miss Florence McGuire wa? maid of honor, and woie' a gewn of pale blue mull with picture hat, and carried white roses. The bridesmaid was Miss Alice Morgan of Victor. Colo., who was gowned in yellow yel-low silk and carried yellow chrysanthemums. chrysan-themums. Mrs. E. C. McSheehy, who was also, in the wedding party, was similarly aUired. Charles Weibrl wr.s best man, and the ushers were William Tyman, Clarence Weibel. E. C. McSheehy Mc-Sheehy and William Grant. After the ceremonj' a reception was tendered the young couple at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. F. McGuire. 277 South Lincoln avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll left the same evening for Salt Lake City, where the honeymoon will be pa.-sed. Out-of-town guests who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Carmody of Florence. Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. William Rogers Rog-ers of Colorado Sprines. Miss Alice Morgan of Victor, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Tyro of Canon City and Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Morgan of Glenwood Springs. Much entertaining is scheduled for Miss Mary Mulrooney, whose marriage to Mr. Benedict Baker will take place in Logan Avenue chapel on Wednesday, Wednes-day, Oct. 21. Wednesday, Oct. 7, Is the date set for the marriage of Miss Emma Hagus and Archie C Dandrow. The ceremony will be performed in Logar Avenue chapel, where Miss Hagus ' brother, Rev. Charles H. Hagus, will officiate at high nuptial mass. A wedding breakfast at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Hagus, 1959 Washington avenue, will, follow the ceremony, and in the evening even-ing a reception at the same place will be given from 7 to 10 o'clock. Mrs. J C. Hagus will entertain at cards for Miss Hagus Monday afternoon, Sept. 2Sth. Mrs. James O'Connor gave a card party Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 22, complimentary to her sister. Miss Edith Mullen, who, on Tuesday, Sept. 29, will become the bride of Oscar Maloney. |
