Show 1938 FISHING PROCLAMATION' Newell B. Cook, Utah State fish and game commissioner, has issued issu-ed his annual proclamation pertaining per-taining to open season on trout fishing. Extracts from the proclamation procla-mation that should interest Cache Valley fishermen, are here given: MHEREAS, is has become advisable ad-visable to permit fishing in certain cer-tain of the streams, lakes and reservoirs re-servoirs of the state of Utah prior to June 15, 1938, NOW THEREFORE, I, Newell B. Cook, Fish and Game Commissioner Commission-er of the State of Utah, by virtue of the authority vested in me by Section 30-0-7, Revised Laws of Utah 1933, do hereby proclaim and declare that all streams, Jakes and reservoirs of the State of Utah below the altitude of seven thousand feet except as herein below be-low otherwise provided shall be and are hereby proclaimed and declared opened to fishing commencing com-mencing at 4 a. mi. Sunday May 29, 1938; provided that any lakes, reservoirs or streams above the altitude al-titude of seven thousand feet not mentioned in the exceptions following fol-lowing shall open and close In accordance with Section 30-0-33, Revised Laws of Utah 1933, unless otherwise proclaimed by the Commissioner: Com-missioner: V The following exceptions shall be in effect in the State of Utah during the year 1938: Boxelder County: Nichols Slough, on the north side of the Brigham-Cbrinne Highway, about four miles west of Brigham City, shall be closed to fishing during the entire year of 1938. Cache County: The following streams and reservoirs re-servoirs in Cache County shall be closed to fishing the entire year of 1938: Right Hand Fork of Logan Lo-gan River; Temple Fork; Beaver Fork; WJiite Pine Creek and Logan Lo-gan River above the point where it junctions with Beaver Creek; the tail race at the Logan City Power Plant in Logan Canyon Sheep Creek, from the site of Smart's Bungalow at the north of Hays canyon to its source; Smithfield Creek from the east Bench Diversion to its source; the southeast portion of the Hyrum Reservoir for approximately three quarters of a mile from the point where Little Bear empties into : said reservoir, as marked and j posted on the ground. Provided that all waters west of the Union Pacfic Railroad tracks extending from the Idaho Line through Logan Lo-gan to the Mendon highway and all waters north of the Mendon highway west to the Olsen Road shall be open to fishing for common com-mon fish the year around. |
