Show DRIVE STARTS ON SQUIRRELS IN CACHE CO. Extermination Program Seems to be Telling its Story in Certain Sections. Cache County's annual squirrel drive will be held the week of ;May 16, county agent R. L. Wrig-j Wrig-j ley announces. Towns scheduled jfor Monday were Avon, Paradise, Hyrum, and Wellsville; Tuesday Mendon, College and Young wards, Nibley, Millville, Providence, and Logan; Wednesday Clarkston Newton, and Smitnfield; Thursday Thurs-day Trenton, Cornish, Lewiston and Cove; Friday Richmond Hyde Park, North Logan, Benson and Amalga. With warm weather, this coming com-ing week should be ideal for baiting bait-ing of squirrels and it is urged that all farmers cooperate to get ,the bait out as soon as possible and wherever the squirrels exist. Reports are that in many places the squirrels are not as numerous as they were a year ago which is the result of good work done J last season. If the cooperation of all landowners can be had the number of squirrels should be so reduced this year that for at, least a few years in the future we should not be bothered with this pest as to the past. These rodents are prolific and unless there is constant follow up work, the numbers increase very rapidly, so Mr. Wxig'ey urges urg-es that farmers secure their bait and put it out on the date scheduled sched-uled for their community. |
