Clerk-Treasurer Joann Housley, a resident of Heber and financial secretary for Churchill Jr. High School in Salt Lake City, was chosen by the board from a list of 13 applicants ap-plicants to succeed Rose Allred as clerk-treasurer. Housely will begin her term Computer Age on Dec. 11. Planning Grant The ' board authorized School Superintendent Richard Goodworth to draft a proposal for a planning grant from the State Board of Education after Goodworth Goodwor-th presented the board with evidence of the need for a comprehensive school But Busy Continued from Page 1 managers may be connected to the CPUs through their own computer terminals, small ones may request information in-formation by phone. The CPU can give each manager a list of what he has available and what the other managers in town have. If his rooms are filled the office manager can refer a prospective client to a property manager that has a vacancy; for such a service he will receive a booking agent fee. Thus, even the bigger property managers are motivated to refer tourists to the smaller ones. If a property manager buys the computer service he can instantly tell prospective visitors what rooms he and every other property manager on the computer has available. Such a computer service would give Park City an obvious advantage over non-compuer linked resort towns. "We don't want a single tourist that wants to come to Park City not have a place to stay," says Kaari. Already Kaari plans to utilize his computer system to beef up summer visitor attendance to Park City. "We think our computer system can have a significant impact on summer attendance to Park City," he said. The first CPU will be received by Resort Services next week and will be operating by Dec. 11. An open house will be held by Resort Services on Dec. 15. district master plan to deal with Park City's growing population. ftew School In discussing the proposed elementary school building the board noted that approximately ap-proximately $950,000 in bonds would have to be sold in order to finance the building. The board will also investigate in-vestigate whether a special election will be necessary to approve the 1973 bond election elec-tion for the school since a change in boundary lines will bring new residents into the school district who could not vote in the 1973 election. Goodworth said arrangements are nearly complete for procuring the 10.4-acre parcel of land near Park West which will serve as the new elementary school site. "Things seem to be working out very well," the superintendent said. "Final arrangements to secure the property should be worked out this week." The land is being obtained from Partnership Investments Invest-ments Inc. Boundary Bill The latest version of the bill to change the South Summit-Park City school district lines was approved unanimously by the State Legislature's Interim Sub Committee in a Nov. 15 meeting. A joint school board meeting in Karnas on Dec. 6 will review the draft before it is prefiled. Goodworth said the two school boards want to prefile the bill so that it can be reviewed, signed by sponsors spon-sors and given a number before the legislative session starts. This will facilitate rapid passage, according to Goodworth. Goodworth said this bill will effect the change and not require a second bill as would an early draft. There is still some question as to whether State Legal Services Ser-vices will consider the bill too specific to pass con stitutional standards. Bus Garage Alterations to the original design of the new 10-bus garage at Park City High School and delivery delays of brick and a twin hoist (for elevating buses for repair work) has put construction of the building behind schedule. Design changes include the addition of a gas pump, tank lines and lights. The school board allowed the company two extra weeks without penalty to finish th project. Bus service for Winters Middle School and high school students staying at school after hours will be initiated on an experimental basis for three weeks in January. Goodworth, who is setting up the project, said that bus service taking students home from the school at 5:00-5:30 p.m. would be especially convenient con-venient for students with athletic, band or theatrical practice schedules. If the buses get heavy use during the trial run the service will become permanant.
