The mayors held the meetings without informing the public of where they were held and what matters were to be discussed. Once this crucial element of the democratic system is removed the very backbone of the American government is broken. Elected officials in this country are representing we, the people. They should be held responsible to and by those who elect them to office. The position does not carry with it the ability to act secretly on public matters.
