Show ' SIGN OF SENSE. In one respect, at least, the soviet government in Hungary is profiting profit-ing by the mistakes of the Kussian Bolshevik Bol-shevik regime. In Eussia. the middle classes were under condemnation along with the aristocracy. Brains were penalized pen-alized and competencies confiscated. Professional men were under the ban. Only the workers, and by that term is expressed laborers alone, had consideration. consid-eration. They were the proletariat. Everybodx able to rise above the common com-mon level was a bourgeoise outlaw. The result -of this misgovernment has been to reduce Eussia to extremities. At this moment Hungary is tranquil. There is an exodus of the so-called capitalistic capi-talistic classes, but, at any rate, these people are not being stood against a wun anu inuruereu in com uiouu. .Hungary .Hun-gary has put doctors, bank officials and skilled laborers in the first class of citizens entitled to full consideration. The communism of the Budapest soviet is aimed at the aristocracy The middle classes are not, as in Eussia, hounded and slaughtered. Foreign property is respected and foreign industry encouraged. encour-aged. Foreign residents are protected. Finally, overtures for an alliance with the Eussian tyranny have been rejected, the moderates in the Budapest government govern-ment overruling Bela Kun's friendly reception re-ception of Lenine's proposals. Prediction as to the stability of the Hungarian government are idle. At best it is of doubtful tenure and promise. prom-ise. Nevertheless, the overturn in Budapest Buda-pest was accomplished without subjecting subject-ing tho nation to a blood bath. A Bolshevism Bol-shevism which places a value on human life is something new in political phenomena. |
