Show J HN paci gg or BICH i I 1 pa I 1 SUCCUMBS dixie pioneer dies at home in st george day before thanksgiving john E pace 87 father of W 13 pace and mrs henry E petersen of richfield died at his home in st george wednesday november 23 following a brief illness from pneumonia last summer at fish lake mr pace attended the largest reunion of the pace family ever held and was in excellent health he was ex exceedingly cee young in spirit and active for his years mr pace was born bom july at nauvoo illinois a son of james and lucinda etland pace and d came to utah with his par parents t among when a small boy he was among the first pioneers to dixie settling in washington about 1861 he married three wives caroline augusta ivins in the endowment house in salt lake june 29 1874 phoebe ann covington on december 7 1877 this being the first marriage in the st george L D S temple and to julia ann ivins in august 1888 in the salt lake L D S temple all preceded him in death he filled a three year mission to england and scotland and was a member of the bishopric in st george for 35 years he was watchman abman at the st george L D S temple for ten years surviving sons and daughters are mrs george lytle john W john I 1 israel W walter C and laprele pace st george dr R J pace los angeles mrs W I 1 sanders san bernardino california mrs airs rulon dally cedar city andrew G pace vallejo california W B pace and mrs airs H E petersen richfield karl 1 I pace and mrs airs A J graham salt lake sid W pace alamo nevada frank pace caliente nevada and mrs sherman lamb cedar city three half sisters mrs airs dixie blackburn salt lake mrs louisa morrell loa and mrs lucinda redd monticello a half brother jeff pace delta 63 grandchildren and 21 great g grandchildren rand children mrs andrew sorensen of st george is the only full sister surviving those attending the funeral from richfield were mr and mrs airs C D pace vern pace mrs frank pace and mis alis heber magleby of monroe |
