'Both men had been drinking for several days, and on Tuesday night disappeared. Three Mexicans, who were in town that night drinking and gambling, also disappeared and it is supposed that they murdered the men. The murderers built a fire near the bodies and burned the bloody clothing. Part of a letter written in Spanish, was found in the ashes. The Mexicans Mexi-cans have been caught and are here in jail. There is talk of lynching. The bodies were brutally mutilated after death. Blake's head was nearly severed from the body. He was robbed rob-bed of a watch and a small amount of money.'' Deserct News. It is generally believed here that the murdered man whose name is given as John Blake is John Bleak, a son of James G. Bleak of this city. He is about 41 years old and has a wife and seven children living here. A representative repre-sentative of this paper called on the family just after they had received the sad intelligence, and found them nearly distracted with grief. Mrs. Bleak has no doubt the murdered man is her husband, hus-band, whom she has not heard from since the 31st of October last, and who she knew was teaming about the place indicated. |
