Show COLORED COOK GOT AWAY WITH PORK CHOPS Chicago, Feb. 16. Meat being high pork in particular Mrs. Lena Stevenson, Steven-son, a colored cook, assembled a collection col-lection of pork chops, several pounds of bacon and half a dozen eggs, and carried them from the boarding house of Mrs. D. E Bonner, on Oakdale avenue, ave-nue, in lieu of a week's wages. The cook had quarreled with her mistress about wages, and to facilitate facili-tate matters took tho valuable chops to the Hyde Park police station. Judge Fry lined Mrs. Stevenson $1. Mrs. Bonner paid her former cook her original price after deducting the cost of the pork chops. |
