Show I AWAY FROM HOME Deputy Marshals Visit the Cannon Farm Deputy Marshals Greeman Vander cook and McCurdy armed with a score or so of subpojnas for members of Geo Q Cannons families thoroughly prospected pros-pected the Cannon farm southwest of the city last night but without very satisfactory satisfac-tory results The three houses were vis ited and searched but the maternal neaus of none of the families were found The officers were refused admission to one of the houses and were about to made forcible I forc-ible entry when the door was thrown open A schoolteacher named Sanders San-ders expostulated with the officers and assumed a rather threatening aspect i pect but a subpoena and the riot act were read to him and he was told that if he attempted any interference he would be given free lodgings for the night when he subsided Six young ladies were also subp ned and these witnesses were interviewed by the Grand Jury this morning It is supposed that Geo Q Cannon is the subject of the investigation investi-gation He was expected to return this evening but in view of the above proceedings pro-ceedings he may deem it advisable to delay his arrival |
