Show Society Thursday, November 24, 2011 Page 3 The Gunnison Valley Gazette BITS Y UTH BASKET 03 ALL WIMPS ARE UN I, ERWAY Obituaries Amy Allred Amy Allred, a valiant daughter of our Heavenly Father, was born on July 19, 1981, to John R. Allred and Malinda Hansen Allred. After a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away at home, on November 17, 2011. She graduated from Fremont High School and LDS Seminary in 1999 and Utah Valley University in 2008. After completing a degree in Elementary Education, she taught second and third grade for the Davis School District. Teaching children was a true fulfillment of a lifetime dream for Amy. She also enjoyed making jewelry, sewing, and creating needlepoint. Reading was another essential part of her life and what she read she lived. She truly believed, "God sees us as we are, and loves us anyway." Journal writing was an art form for her. She was a dedicated journalist, writer of volumes; each volume was an expression of profound love for family, friends, and for the gospel. She wrote often of her love of her parents, her concern for their well-being and her gratitude for their love. She recorded her support for her brothers and their families through all the important events of their lives. Her grandparents, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins were centered in her circle of love. Loyalty to friends was a way of life to Amy, and she cared deeply for many. She had compassion for the unfortunate, lifting the downtrodden. She loved people and they loved her. Most of all she loved the gospel. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church. Her testimony was precious to her. Each journal entry ended with a declaration of her love for the Savior and His church. Her life demonstrated her resolution to return with honor to her Father in Heaven. She knew that blessings come with trials; and she knew that an acceptance of adversity, fused with patience, would ultimately result in "perfection, wanting nothing." Because of cancer, Amy was unable to fulfill a mission for her church so her life became her mission. She was an example of faith, living her life with an eternal perspective. Without question, she was truly a valiant daughter of our Heavenly Father, one who has earned His approving declaration, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." She is survived by her parents, John and Malinda Allred of Spanish Fork, Jaron (Joni) Allred of Roy, Eric (Andrea) Allred of Kaysville, Dallin Allred of Salt Lake City, three nieces and one nephew, grandparents: Ace and Phylis Allred, Gary and Vicki Hansen, John and Louise Lewis. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Guy Hansen. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Canyon Pointe Ward chapel at 2162 East Canyon Pointe Rd, Spanish Fork.
