Timpview's defense held strong, though, as it did most of the game preventing the Devils from scoring. Timpview then decided what they needed was another quarterback to run for them. So, they put in Joey Wood. This helped them somewhat when they were able to make one of the deepest penetrations of the game moving the ball to the Springville 38-yard 38-yard line. But time was running out for the Thunderbirds. They again went to the air. They were able to keep the ball away from Strong this time, but Chris Holmes, not to be out done, came up with an interception, with 28 seconds showing on the clock before half time, thus preventing the Thunderbirds from scoring. The Devils let time run out to end the half. The Devils received the kick to start the second half, but were unable to move the ball and were forced to punt. Timpview took over the ball at the midfield stripe and were able to move it to the Springvingville 13-yard 13-yard line. The Devils defense held, and the Thunderbirds were forced with a 4-down and six yards to go situation. They elected to fake a punt, but the Red Devils defense read it all the way and stymied the hopes of the T-Birds to put a score on the board. The quarter ended with the score of a 7-0 advantage ad-vantage for the Devils. The Devils started out the fourth and final quarter with another Jeff Strong interception that gave them the ball on the Timpview 15-yard line. Springville was able to move the ball to the 4-yard 4-yard line, where Strong was reminded that he is human after" all, when Knickerbocker of Timpview Timp-view gave him some of his own medicine by intercepting in-tercepting the ball on the Timpview 3-yard line. Timpview was unable to move the ball and was forced to punt, and the Devils took over on the Timpview 45-yard line. On the second play, Chris Holmes got the call up the middle and was able to run for a 44-yard touchdown to move the Devils ahead 13-0, with time running out for the Thunderbirds. Timpview was able to get nowhere with only 2 minutes remaining, and the Devils just on the ball to end the game. The Devils take on the American Fork Cavemen tomorrow night at A.F.
