Show Page Ten - The Springville Herald - September 11, 1980 Leo Marchbanks Leo Marchbanks. 82, of QWw0m Orem, died Wednesday. 'Sent. 3, 1980, at Utah vauey nospiiai. He was born June 14, 1898 in Mapleton, a son of Edwin Joshua and Mary Emma Allan Marchbanks. Mar-chbanks. He married Helen Carrick on June 18, 1919 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Most of his early life he spent farming in Mapleton. He was a member of the Mapleton first male chorus. A veteran of World War I, he moved to Orem in 1942. He worked for Geneva continued for 25 years, retiring in 1967. He also continued farming. (Zena Mary) Anderson, Weiser, Idaho; Mrs. Dean (Nona Von) Gillman, Orem; Mrs. Ray (Shirley Ann) Harris, Murray; Leon Edwin Mar-chbankks, Mar-chbankks, Mapleton; Willis Reid Marchbanks, Orem; John Alan Marchbanks, Mar-chbanks, Orem; John Alan Marchbanks and Terry James Marchbanks, Mar-chbanks, both of Lindon; 35 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. Mabel Bear Koyle Mabel Bear Dall Koyle, 85, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 1980, in Provb of causes incident to age. She was born Feb. 23, 1895 in Springville, a daughter of John T. and Lettie M. Houtz Beardall. She married John Hyrum Koyle, Dec. 16, 1914 in the Manti IDS Temple. She received her education in Springville schools and helped her husband on a farm in Salem since their marriage. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a teacher in various auxiliary organizations. She was a member of the Camp Salem Daughters of Utah Pioneers and served as captain and in various other positions. Surviving are her husband of Salem, one daughter and one son Vee J. Koyle of Salem; Mrs. Margie K. Twitchell of Midvale, seven grandchildren; grand-children; 14 greatgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one brother, Clifford W. Beardall of Provo. Funeral services were, Friday at 1 p.m. in the Salem LDS Stake Center. Officiating was Kent-Burton Kent-Burton of the Salem Sixth Ward. Burial was in Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Olea Day Cox Olea Day Cox, 86, died Sept. 4, 1980 at her home in Fairview. A son, Newell Dee Cox lives in Springville. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, August 18, 1894 to George William Day and Elizabeth Ellis Staker. She married Newell B. Cox, June 24, 1919 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Feb. 10, 1978. Other survivors include another son and two daughters: Odell Cox, Fairview, Sanpete County; Mrs. Rex (Lorraine) Hansen, Houston; Mrs. Elmer (Reva) Fillis, Mission Viejo, Ca.; 10 grandchildren, grand-children, eight greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers: Truman Wilcox, Sterling, Idaho; and Arden Wilcox, Aberdeen, Idaho. Services were Monday at 1 p.m. in the Fairview South LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was at the Fair-view Fair-view City Cemetery. CARD OF THANKS The family of Dr. Glenn B. She was born April 17, 1908 at Springville the daughter of Ruel and Grace Wignal Averett. She married Ray Simkins Oct. 10, 1933 in Salt Lake City. : She was a life long resident of Springville and a graduate of Springville High School. She has been active in the auxiliary organizations of the LDS Church and the PTA. Survivors include her husband of Springville, one daughter and two sons, Mrs. John (Norma) Dolinar, Upland, Calif. ; Jim Simkins and Randy Simkins, both of Springville; two grandchildren; grand-children; two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Fay Madsen, Mrs. Hardy (Norma) Child, Gene Averett, Dean Averett, all of Springville; Blaine Averett, Fullerton, Calif.; and Ronald Averett, Reno, Nevada. Funeral services were Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Springville 2nd-12th-14th LDS Ward Chapel, 450 South Main. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Funeral was Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Windsor Stake Center, 1675 N. 200 W., Orem. Burial was in Orem City Cemetery. Lydia Barney Clark Funeral services for Lydia Barney Clark, 83, who died Friday, Sept. 5, 1980, were Tuesday in Rock Springs. She was born Feb. 2, 1897 in Lakeshore to Alma and Annie Barney. She received her education in Lakeshore schools. She married William (Bill) Clark. She lived in Rock Springs most of her life. Survivors include one son and two daughters, Gene Clark and Edith Clark of Rock Springs; Mrs. Raymond (Arlene) Pecolar, Springville; one brother and three sisters, Clarence Barney, Laura Burr and Edith Carter, all of Provo; and Florence Elliott, Price. Burial was in the Rock Springs, Wyo. Cemetery. Adopt a pet Animal control officer Dennis Dalton reports that there are four dogs waiting for adoption at the Animal Shelter, this week. A young male adult, Samoid-Husky mix, is pretty and playful, he reports. "It would make someone a fine dog." He is also extending the City's hospitality to a black, brown, and white mixed adult female; a mixed breed male; and a small black mixed .breed female. Any of these dogs can be adopted for (the cost of their license and feed bill, Dalton explained. Loughton was born and raised in Washington D.C., but has lived in Utah Valley, since 1963, where he has managed other similar businesses. He has, completed an LDS mission to Peru. He and his wife, the former Kaylynne Pitts, of Orem, have been married two years and expect their first child in November. Pictured with Loughton are "Dino" the dinosaur and his friends.
