Show educational I 1 carnival carn ival brings brinas t cavalcade of educators attendance INCREASES WITH EACH SESSION MANY FROM neighboring TOWNS BIGGEST EDUCATION FEAST IN HISTORY OF MILLARD CONDUCTED BY HIGH SCHOOL AND SEMINARY the educational carnival being conducted tills this week by tho the high school arid and the seminary is proving to be the i biggest educational festival ever conducted hero here the rich program scheduled Is bringing to this place somo some twelve or fifteen of the foremost educators and inspirational speakers available in the state each day Is bringing a tremendously increasing demonstration of interest on the part of the public some of the neighboring towns are represented each day in large numbers in spite of the tact fact that weather conditions are ideal tor for I 1 farming operations already to n un se date the carnival began last manday i i with professor ethel cutler and dr thomas L martin as lecturers the they j filled ther day and evening sessions i with inspirational themes and the dei part mental sessions with instruction in household arts tor for the ladles ladies and agriculture tor for men tuesdays work opened with professors fred buss clawson young cannon ethel cutler and dr martin occupying the platform continuing the agricultural and household subjects professor banmon gave gasoi special ial attention to the subject of dairying in millard county A feature of the lie day was the two illustrated lectures given by professor buss BUBS at the pai paramount amount one of these was entitled this Beautiful tit world of ours and the other the story of the sifea vens on wednesday dr george 11 grimball Drimba ll professor T earl pardoe and superintendent of L D S church schools adam S bennion delivered stirring messages to crowed b 0 i ics acs at it the ward chapel and at tile alie high school the day was 11 w aed w nil rh meetings andlor and tor the first time the mec meetings tings were crowd oil ed with people at tho the day time sessions from arom this one on the attendance increased with great momentum some of the outstanding events ui this day were superintendent bennion s lecture what about me ale dr Brim halls lecture the brakes of lite life and professor cardoes Par does lecture time the heritage of eternity and also ills his stories from life ind and dramatic readings other lectures given during the nay aay anc ana evening behl the big audiences in wrape interest iho ailigh school band roused ou on this da day Y with its street music the musical for or the ille week was rich with numbers from the band orchestra and other branches ot of the high school music department the elementary school furnished ame pleas ing entertaining numbers i on thursday stirring lne lectures were agven in both the forenoon and afternoon sessions by dr charles G plummer and dr george Brim liall As we go to press these educators are occupying the platform for the friday program there li to be a county teachers institute in conjunction at which will be present representatives ot of the state depart ment ament of education apostle melvin J dallard ballard will also be present under the auspices of the seminary hot ha will give a lecture to the whole public at ten in the morning and another tor for the th public at two la in the afternoon announcement was made that he may also give another adother at six in the evening it if it does doea not interfere with his scheduler schedule ot of travel I 1 on friday evening the high school is to stage the musical comedy sav ageland at the bartholomew hall i the curtain for this rip roaring dramatic and musical event is programmed tor for la in the evening on saturday the bachers institute will continue with educators from the state de of education as lectures dr john H taylor will be prent on this the last day of the carnival to give lectures and demonstrations st in boy scout work to date the carnival lias has been a classic event from the beginning many people declare that the lect elect ture by dr brimhall last wednesday night entitled the drakejr ot of lifo life was the cost best lecture heard in lit in fillmore tor for many in tact fact the lectures throughout the carnival have been exceptionally strong and I 1 virile the high school and seminary are already planning to conduct another rush with the spring farm work car carnival ival next year but at a time aliz when the weather Ls Is such that tle far farmers piers do not fand it necessary to lo rush with the spring aarm work j this week of fine waier has com cited many a man to tackle the work on the farm while conditions were right and thus preventing him from attending all of the educational sessions I 1 |
