Show The Eastern question which bade fair a few days since to be reopened seems now to be in the way of a peaceful settle-: ment. If rumor is to be believed, neither Prince Alexander nor the Sultan had any real desire for war, and the whole thing was a dress parade affair. If Alexander thought that the Powers which created him Prince of Bulgaria were going to' let him do as he pleased when he displeased them, he must be woefully wanting in political tact ; and the man, be he prince or be he pauper, who undertakes to interfere inter-fere in the Eastern question must before all else have political tact; that is, the power to make' one's language, conceal one's thoughts and intentions. . |
