Kae Crittenden Appointed Nursing Home Administrator Mrs. Kae Crittenden has been appointed administrator of the Alpine Valley Care Center located in Pleasant if r Grove. The Lehi resident assumed the directorship of the long-ternursing facility this month. According to Richard Brown director of the parent firm. Valley Care Centers, Mrs. Crittenden comes to the position well prepared. "She has served as an administrative assistant here in our central offices for nearly six years," said Mr. Brown, "and has demonstrated I John Bone Receives Doctorate John W. Bone, son of George I. and Arva Bone, will receive a Doctorate Degree at the, Brigham Young University graduation exercises next Friday, April 21. His doctor's degree is in Educational Administration, and the title of his disertation is: "Time Allotment in the Elementary Schools in the Western United States." John graduated from the Lehi High School in 1959, and later filled a mission to Australia. In 1966, he received his B.S. Degree in Speech Pathology and Special Education. John married JoAnn Penovich of American Fork, and they are the parents of three sons: Jeffrey age 11, Bradley age 8, and Sterling, age 1. They are making their home in Orem. At present, John is principal of Joaquin Elementary School at Provo. This school has a student membership s composed of regular students from kindergarten through h sixth grade and special students. Recently Joaquin School has received several honors. It has been featured on TV Channel 7 and 11 as well as on the National Broadcasting CompanyThis spring, the school was featured at the State Administrator's Conference as an exemplary school in implementary arts for regular and special education students. John has been assigned to become the principal of a new school to be constructed in the northwest area of Provo which will open in 1979 and 1980. All of the special education students will be moved to the new school. It will also enroll regular students as well. John is a part-tim- e faculty member at Brigham Young University where he teaches Speech Pathology. Lehi's third chapter of the Utah Association of Women was organized on April 13. The purpose of this organization is to educate Utah's women on national, state and local issues so that they can join forces in preserving our freedom 1. Elected chairman of the chapter was JaLaine Carson; Roweena Rymer, first vice chairman; Dena Turner, second Edna vice chairman; Hardy, secretary; Margie Hardy, treasurer; Gladys Harris, resource chairman; Katie Beecher, public relations, historian, and Carol Gray, parlimen-tarian- . Salt Palace. There will be workshops on Title IX, the Equal Rights Amendment, the abortion issue, the homosexual issue, the "Year of the Child" and Women and the Law. Ladies interested in participating may contact any of the officers. Chapter Two of the Association of Women in Lehi are also organized with Diane Downs as chairman; first vice chairman is Marilyn Nielsen; second vice chairman is Sheila Webb and secretary is Wanda Findlay. Miss Lehi Hopefuls Appear on Hotel Balderdash Fontana, modeling sessions and a shopping expedition were some of the extras offered Miss Lehi contestants. A highlight of activities was meeting with Governor Matheson at the State Capitol, a visit with Ruth Funk, President of the YWMIA, and a tour of the church office building. The girls and their escorts have been treated to many fun and learning experiences since they announced their intentions to seek the Miss Lehi title. They have also engaged in rigorous dance practices under the direction of Sheila McKinney to ready the production number which begins the pageant. It will be done to the exciting music of Star Wars. Mrs. Crittenden also handles staffing and employee relations at the facility; In addition she must insure that all facets of the Home's operations comply with state health and safety codes. Another primary task is the coordination of all health services such as doctor consultations, prescriptions, individualized food service, and theraputic services; Alpine Valley Care Center is one of five Valley Care Centers and is located at 25 East Alpine Drive, Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Crittenden is married to Jim Crittenden and they are the parents of five daughters. The family resides in Lehi.
