El funcionario dijo que, por el momento, están trabajando con los estudios ambientales y con los vecinos del área así como alcaldes, representantes de organizaciones civiles y dueños de negocios para saber qué tan de acuerdo la gente está con el proyecto. Gilmore dijo que esta es una excelente oportunidad para que la ciudad pueda impulsar el llamado “Movimiento Verde” y, de esta manera, impulsar a una comunidad más sana y amigable. “Salgan del auto, no tendrás que preocuparte de la calle State y la 700 East —las calles más ocupadas. Así, la gente podrá tener acceso, salir y hacer ejercicio; es un movimiento saludable”, finalizó Gilmore. Finalmente, el representante de SLCC hizo un llamado a la comunidad latina para mejorar su educación: dijo que si la gente está interesada en mejorar su educación, deben realmente considerar estudiar. Aseguró que las instituciones como SLCC son muy buena opción, ya que se pueden combinar con el trabajo y que, además, imparten las clases que son realmente necesarias. “Para la comunidad latina tenemos a alguien disponible en todas las áreas que puede ayudarte con preguntas específicas que puedas tener, alguien que puede explicar específicamente a los miembros de tu familia y en español cuales son los servicios que tenemos. Nosotros no solo servimos solo a los estudiantes, servimos también a la familia”, concluyó Tlou. |
