Show BOWLING 5 Chick Lloyd was the winner of the bowling clasp at the South east Bowling Courts last week Chick had a 247 game, which is good bowling for anyone, especially espec-ially a fellow who has bowled only since spring and has not established estab-lished a league average. Afton Ward can bowl a mean ball, too; she stepped right out with a 232 to take the Husband and Wife League prize this week, a hot 80 pins above her average in one game. Her team, the WardFellows WardFel-lows combination, stayed right with her with high game of 755 and a 2101 series, the only team to win 4 points this week and move in to second place in the league. The Morley-Stevenson team continues its consistent winning win-ning by taking three points to remain in top spot. Honors for high series went to Sid Neslen this week. He bowled a 646 series and had 257 for high single game. The bowling pin tie clasp prize for the present week's highest game was given July 27th for the last time this season, and the winner was Van Vleet with a 265 game. This week's Husband and Wife League had as high light Bill Ward' 630 series. Bill says he always al-ways bowls his high games on the night when the prize is to go to a lady. Can it be that he is confused con-fused by the trousers on the ladies? lad-ies? Belle Fellows won the cup by bowling 49 pins over her average series, which is fine bowling for a lady with a 169 average. Anita Eby was a close second with 44 pins over her average, and others bowling well over their averages were Ruth Henatach. Ina Dallin, and Margaret Wagner. The Stevenson-Morley team is six points ahead of the nearest competitor for top position in the league. This team has bowled well through the season. |
