' Jean Paul Loquet, now serving a life term In the Wisconsin penitentiary, began Lis murderous career three score years ago, when a lad of 6, by braining his younger brother. He ended it the other day by killing his third wife. He was 50 years Id when he married her, and she was a pretty Freuch maiden of 17. It is for this crime that he must remain In prison the rest of his life. In early manhood, while a resident of Green Bay, Loquet married a half breed. Soon afterward the squaw mother disappeared, and Loquet married Mrs. Mansart, the wife of neighbor who died by poison. In a fit of jealousy Mrs. Loquet declared that her husband had committed the crime. Next morning she was not to be seen, and it became known later on that Loquet had cremated her in a big Dutch oven. A son who witnessed the deed was slain by his father. The fiendish old man was tried and scn-' scn-' tenced at Oshkosh recently. Ho is over six feet tall, has immensely broad shoulder shoul-der and a deep chest. His hair is dark brown, and his small twinkling eyes show a baleful greenish tinge. |
