A wedding reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Kip Smith was held in the Monti-cel- lo IDS Cultural Hall on Friday, April 28. The young couple were married on April 27 in the Salt Lake Temple. Accompanying them were Mr. and Mrs. Cooper Jones. The bride, dressed in a white satin gown with seed pearl embroidery on the fitted bodice and wearing an elbow length illusion veil, carried a bouquet of carnations centered with pink orchids. Maid of honor, Miss Donna Welch of Tulsa, Okla. , wore a blue street length dress and a corsage of pink carnations. Richard Smith, brother of the groom, served as best man. Both the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom wore pink dresses and white and pink carnation corsages. A color scheme of pink and white was carried throughout the decorations and floral arrangements. The bride's table was covered with a white lace cloth over pink satin where the three-tier- ed white wedding cake was centered. The cake was decorated with pale pink roses, white hearts, silver bells and topped with a bride and groom under a heart shaped arch. The cake was flanked with crystal candelabra holding pink and white candles. The serving tables were covered with white lace clothes with centerpieces of miniature sweetheart roses and lillies in crystal vases. The theme for the evening was Priesthood Reflection Night and was the occasion for the girls to show their love and appreciation for their fathers. The welcome address was given by Mrs. Albert Nielson and the "Greeting to Fathers" was given by Stephanie Washburn. A play entitled "I am a Princess" directed by Mrs. Buck Rogers was given by the girls and the entire group sang "Dear Earthly Father", after which they adjourned for refreshments of punch and cookies. Residents have sweet tooth The Girl Scout Cookie Sale has been termed a great success by Girl Scout Troop 282 of Monticello. The busy girls sold and collected $285.00 from the sale of the cookies which was just completed. According to Mrs. Scotty Rogers, their leader, the troop will retain $25. 80 of the total amount collected to buy needed equipment. The Girl Scouts wish to thank of the customers for making this sale the big success it was. The Monticello Carden Club met at the Library last week with President Pearl Butt presiding. The club voted to postpone work on the Triangle beautification project this year due to the proposed road construction in the area, but will make further improvements on Circle Park. Plans call for construction of a pedestrian entrance on the east side of the park and installation of a drinking fountain. Flagstone walks will be constructed if there is enough money left in the treasury after these improvements are completed. Senior Class enjoys Brownies take hike party Brownie Troop No. 280 hiked to South Creek Saturday where they enjoyed a picnic lunch. Around 18 Brownies, with their leaders, Mrs. Don Neb- eker and Mrs. Bill Rogers, and accompanied by some Junior Scouts, enjoyed the outing. Fly-U- p Program will be held in May, the date to be announced later. This ceremony will be the graduation of IS Brownies to the rank of Junior Girl Scout.
