Show Hilltop HILLTOP TIMES Know Coffee Talk will be held at the Airmen Recreation Center (Bldg. 524) 6:30-7:30 a.m., on the second Wednesday of the each month. The event is held for junior enlisted Airmen to voice questions and concerns with installation leaders. The next Coffee Talk will be Aug. 13. Still time to register for Focus Week There are still openings in training classes July 31-Aug. 1 as part of Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Focus Week here. The classes are designed to provide training and development for all Hill AFB logisticians in areas such as: intern management/ placement, journeyman training, awards, initial logistician training, training plans and civilian development counseling. Fundraising regulations Hill AFB organizations may conduct two fundraising events each quarter, but the events must be approved via staff summary sheet, in accordance with AFI 34-223-AFI 36-3101. The 75 FSS/CL is the approving authority for all booster clubs or private organizations. Requests should be routed at least 10-15 days prior to the event. Immunization requirements The Department of Defense recently updated its immunization guidelines, requiring all service members to receive the hepatitis B virus immunizations. Members have 365 days to complete the three-shot series before they are flagged for noncompliance. The hepatitis B vaccine is given in three doses. • Dose 1 is given. • Dose 2 must be given at least 30 days after dose 1. • Dose 3 must be given at least 60 days after dose 2, and at least 120 days after dose 1. Commanders should ensure their Unit Health Monitors notify members of this requirement. Immediate action is recommended because it takes at least four months to complete the series. Service members can check their IMR status online by visiting the Air Force Surgeon Generals website at https://imr.afms.miV imr/MyIMR.aspx. Building access restricted The 75th Civil Engineer Group will be restricting access to Bldgs. 400 and 430 in two phases to replace asphalt near the buildings. Phase 1 will occur Aug. 3-10. During this phase, the north entrance off 6th Street will be closed and the west entrance off F Street will need to be used. The western part of the Bldg. 430 parking lot will also be impacted and restrict access to Bldg. 430. Those needing access to Bldg. 430 will need to walk east around the southwest part of the construction area. Phase 2 will occur Aug. 11-17. During this phase, the Southeast entrance on Community Street will be closed and access off Community Street will be the northeast entrance and northwest entrance off 6th Street. Access to Bldg. 430 will be impacted again and those needing access to the building will need to walk to the southwest end of the parking lot to get to Bldg. 430. NIAL BRADSHAW/U.S. Air Force Team Hill runners head east into the rising sun July 25 for a group run along the Hill Air Force Base flightline. The runners met up at 7 a.m. to stretch and started the run as a group at 7:10 a.m. Tracy Stauder, on Sept. 18 at the Base Chapel Fellowship Hall, 11 a.m.-noon. The October Lunch & Learn will be Marketing Yourself, presented by Carol Merrill with Weber State University's Women's Center, on Oct. 16, also at the Base Chapel Fellowship Hall, 11 a.m.-noon. Free tickets to Raptors Game Hill Air Force Base has received free tickets to the Top of Utah Military Affairs Committee/Hill Appreciation Night at Lindquist Field with the Ogden Raptors at 7 p.m., Aug. 8. The Raptors will play the Helena Brewers. This is an annual event that is sponsored by the Top of Utah Military Affairs Committee and the Ogden Raptors organization to show support for all the members of Team Hill and their families. This is a family event, and there is no limit on the number of tickets each individual may receive. The 75th ABW Public Affairs Office asks organizations to appoint someone to pick up tickets for their organization. Tickets are available in Bldg. 1102, Room 115. Canines With A Cause FARMINGTON —The Canines With A Cause program will hold its 2014 golf tournament at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 25 at Oakridge Country Club, 1492 W. Sheppard Lane, Farmington. The program connects veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and welltrained, specialized service dogs that provide emotional therapy. Program officials said by rescuing dogs from kill shelters, and using prison inmates as a means to train, the program essentially saves three lives: the veteran, the dog and the inmate. The tournament begins with a four-person team scramble, shotgun start. It offers prizes for first, second and third place for team, gross and net individual hole prizes and other oncourse contests. American Airman Video Contest The 75th Air Base Wing has designated the second Wednesday of each month as a 'Training Day." The training days schedule is Aug. 13, Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10. During these training days, the 75th Medical Group, including the base pharmacy, will be closed. The only medical group exceptions are the Exchange Satellite Pharmacy and the Occupational Medicine Services (civilian) Clinic, Bldg. 249. No changes will be made to the appointment process. Other ABW Organizations will be open, but with minimal staff. Customers are recommended to conduct business on other days of each month. Training days designated Winners of the American Airman Video Contest will be selected Aug. 12 to 22, and the 10 finalists' videos will be available on AFBlueTube for public voting. Voters can "like" their favorite videos, and the video with the most "likes" will win. The winning video will be shown at the September Air Force Association conference in Washington, D.C., which attracts thousands of visitors annually and receives heavy media attention.
