Show ( JUNE 2, 1987 L, Births Heritage Center notes McKinlay dies at 65 The Davis County Council on Aging is interested in strengthening the grassroots legislative network in order to address issues which affect older persons more effectively at the local, state and national levels. In order to accomplish this objective, the Davis County Council on Aging Legislative Planning and Action Committee has planned a two-da- y seminar emphasizing how one can influence the legislative Alma Wesley McKinlay, 65, of N. 1450 E., Layton, died Saturday, May 23, 1987 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City of heart failure. He was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Moody Creek, Ida., a son of Alma J. and Margaret Birch McKinlay. , He married Carma Pulley July 7, 1944, in Dillon, Mont. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1974, after 34 years of service. He was reared in St. Anthony, Ida. and had lived in Layton for the past 42 years. For the last five years he and his wife had wintered in Yuma, Ariz. He graduated from high school in Idaho. He was a member of the LDS Church. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific where he received a Bronze Star. Surviving are his wife of Layton, 2177 process. Steve Jennings, Utah Legal Services Developer, will present this seminar which is designed for senior citizens, local residents, and others interested in the state legis- lative process. The residents of, Davis County, especially senior citizens, are invited to attend. The sessions are scheduled for June 4 and July 7 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Davis County Commission Chambers, Davis County Courthouse, Farmington. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Dedication of the grave was by Kenneth Tomlinson with interment in the Lindquists Washington Heights Memorial Park. He was a lifelong resident of Eayton. ; He attended public schools in Layton and also attended Utah State University Agricultural College in Logan for two years. : He was a member of the Layton fst LDS Ward, where he served as Sigh priest. He served an LDS mission to the Northern States. He had Served as scoutmaster for many years and also served as a temple ordinance worker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The Kaysville chapter was well represented in Logan, receiving numerous achievement awards. Kaysville was recognized as the number two chapter in the state, its highest finish ever. Major awards received by Kaysville were: Most Improved Chapter, the Don Caval-l- i Memorial Award for outstanding project of the year and the Don Cavalli Memorial Award for chapter of the year.
