Show COUNCIL SETS UNIVERSITY of mm Dr. John C. Carlisle AVill Direct for Fourth Year Dates Listed. The yearly University of Scouting Scout-ing of the Cache Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America will be conducted November 24, 26 and 28 and December 1, 3 and, 5 in the Logan junior high school building, it has been announced by Frederick P. Champ, president presi-dent of the council. Heading the course for the fourth consecutive year will be Dr. John C. Carlisle, member of fhe education department at the Utah State Agricultural college, and a prominent scouting leader in the state. Assisting Dr. Carlisle will be Rex M. Ingersoll, who will .'have charge of morale, and publicity; pub-licity; Paul Y. Dunn, dean of the school of forestry at the college, -exhibits, and Preston W. Pond, executive who will be coordinator. coordinat-or. Several instructors will supervise sup-ervise activities of the eight courses which include patil leadership, basic course for scout leaders, troop commirEmen, principles of scout leadershpi, explorer ex-plorer leadership, emergency service, ser-vice, "brass hats" and merit badge work. At the recent board meeting, -President Champ announced that two new executive board members mem-bers have been appointed. They are, D. W. Davies, librarian at the college;" and W. W. Perkins. El Ray Christiansen, of the Cache Stake Presidency represents that stake on the board, and Albert Zbinden has been named Hyrum stake representative. Dr. N. E. Munk of Logan, has been appointed appoint-ed chairman of the works for the emergency corps, and L. F. "Keller, also of Logan, will fill the chairmanship of the health and 'safety committee while Hyrum Hy-rum Hunsaker is on leave of absence. C. D. McBride and Joseph Jo-seph F. How-ells, are new members mem-bers of the leadership training committee. |
