Show Thornton Family Holds Reunion in Parowan The annual reunion of the family of one time Parowan residents, res-idents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. U. Thornton, was hold here on Saturday Sat-urday and Sunday with almost all of the descendants of the couple cou-ple gathering here for the occasion. occa-sion. The reunion started out with swimming in the morning at the municipal pool. This was followed follow-ed by a dinner, business meeting meet-ing and program in the afternoon after-noon in the Third Ward cultural hall. The group then gathered at the Five Mile recreation area in the evening for a singing service. ser-vice. Sunday School services were held at the Five Mile on Sunday morning. Making local arrangements for the reunion were the Parowan members of the family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Day, Mr. and Mrs. Car-lyle Car-lyle Johnson and families and Mrs. Hal Thornton. Coming from Las Vegas, Nov. where a large number of the Thornton descendents reside were Mr. and Mrs. Byron Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Hugh Thornton and 3 children; Mr. and Mis. Don Soienson, 2 children; Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thornton, one child; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Stephenson; Mr. and Mrs. Charles ( Harriet 1 Hicks and son Richard; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Alger and 5 children; Mr. and Mrs. Ted (Afton) Werner and daughter Linda; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Westergard; Mr. and Mrs. Val Yaney and family and Mr. and Mrs. Troy Thornton and family. Also here for the event were William E. Thornton, Mayfield, Utah; Mrs. Elaine Thornton and 3 children; Saltair, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. T. Gay Myers and 9 children, Santa Monica, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Geddes and 5 children, Los Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Conger and 6 children, Ontario, Calif.; Mrs. Patricia Par-ris Par-ris and 2 children, Springville; Mrs. Linda Bartholomew, and 2 children, Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Thornton and family, Kanab; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Berry and family of Cedar City, and Mrs. Connell Mitchell and family of Ogden. |
