Show Scout Head To Resign Post, Soon A. A. Anderson of Provo, for 13 years scout executive of the Timpanogos Timp-anogos Boy Scout Council, and who has occupied the executive position of the council since its organization, will resign from this office in the very near future. Merrill Christofferson of Provo, who received much of his training under Mr. Anderson, and who has l spent several years working in the national Boy Scout headquarters in New York, will succeed Mr. Anderson. Ander-son. Mr. Christofferson began his scouting in American Fork in thej! First ward where he was a member . : of the scout troop headed by C. A. : Grant. Since leaving here he has: continued with his scout wortc to Ore J I extent that his associates soon came i to recognize his natural ability for this work. Mr. Christofferson possesses an unusual personality which will go a long ways towards fulfilling the duties imposed upon him by the executiveship. Financial conditions continue to be the biggest problem facing the Timpanogos council as indicated by the audit report of the council's accounts ac-counts up to September of this year. The districts, however, are gradually reducing their deficits, according to the report, $2841.78 being owed by 1 the various districts of the council this year as compared with $3098.97 ' in 1933. Of the 1934 quota assessed : the Alpine district this year, $200 was paid. Revenues of the council for the year totaled $4,102.50, including the district allocations and $35 in other contributions. Expenses for the year totaled $4,724.33, leaving a net loss on operations of $621.83. Inability of the various districts to raise their quota has resulted in the budget of the council being cut down materially during the past few years and has also resulted in Executive Execu-tive A. A. Anderson being unable to make trips to the various districts as needed. |
