Robbins of Afton, Wyoming, and Mrs. Errol Robbins of Murray, were visitors with their father, Joseph H. Adams, from Sunday till Wednesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Hall Church of Burley, Idaho, were guests last Wednesday Wed-nesday and Thursday of Mrs. Church's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Niels P. Poulson. The Misses Opal Nelson and Mel-ba Mel-ba Young entertained at a shower last Friday evening at the Nelson home in honor of Merle Carlson Gillesuie, a bride of the month. Mrs. Lavarda West Hurst and small son, Larry, arrived from Blanding Sunday evening to visit with Mrs. Hurst's parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. W. West, and other relatives here. Twenty guests were present. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Foutz and Mr. and Mrs. George Foutz of Salt Lake City, returned Monday evening from a trip to Mexico, where they attended attend-ed a Foutz family reunion. Mrs. C. R. Clark, Mrs. Romain Clark and Mrs. Beers entertained at a shower Monday afternoon at the Seoond Ward Amusement hall in honor of Violet Clark who was married mar-ried to Bay Beers on Wednesday. The afternoon was spent in group games which caused lively competition competi-tion and created amusement for all. Dainty refreshments were served to about fifty ladies. Mrs. Amelia Burnham and daughter, daugh-ter, Pheobe, returned Monday from Reno and Virginia City, Nevada, where they have been for the past Mrs. Arthur Foley of LaJuanla, Colorado, and Mrs. Marie Mann of Los Angeles, both sisters of Mrs. Lloyd Gray, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gray. Ed Ball, who has recently underwent under-went an operation on his eye returned re-turned to the hospital at Provo last Friday where he could receive special i medical attention. He is reported ' to be seriously ill. Mrs. Wealthy Sheffer of Roose-i Roose-i velt is visitine this week at the home month. Miss Pheobe went to Nevada Neva-da to be employed but became ill j and was operated on for appendicitis. appendici-tis. H:r mother was called to her bedside. Mother and daughter returned re-turned to Pleasant Grove together. Among those from Pleasant Grove who attended the Freeman family reunion at Herriman on October 9, were: Mrs. J. J. Freeman, Mrs. Ruby Freeman Nelson. Mrs. Chloe Free-ma Free-ma nWest, Mrs. West. Helen, Earl. Vern, Rhea and Beth Freeman. Miss Rhea Freeman gave several readings at the entertainment. One hundred fifty descendants of the Freeman family were present. of her brother, J. R. Halliday. Mrs. Sheffer was a former resident of this city but has not been here for more than twenty years. Mrs. La Verne Marrott Slater is a proud mother of a winsome baby girl, born Wednesday. Mrs. Slater and the baby are at the home of her mother, Mrs. Maggie Marrott. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Adams and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Adamson motored from Sterling. Idaho, Monday Mon-day to visit with relatives in Pleasant. Pleas-ant. Grove and American Fork. |
