Provo, Utah J27 - F3 The annual meeting of the Utah Ut-ah Growers Co-ODerative will be held February 6 at Provo, ac cording to John Gerber, general manager of the co op. The meeting meet-ing will be devoted mostly to markets, 1950 market trends and organization policies, he said. The new policies to be effected at the meeting will result in greater savings and more efficient effic-ient operations for grower members, mem-bers, Mr. Gerber said. Among these new policies is the releasing releas-ing of a number of inactive members, many of whom are no longer connected with agriculture. agricult-ure. A forecast of the 1950 outlook for vegetables will he nresented at the afternoon session by Mr, Gerber and O. Devere Wooton. president and board chairman of the organization- Also included with the afternoon session, which is restricted to grower memoers only, will be a financial and operating op-erating report of the past year. The meeting will be followed by an evening dinner at the Alpine Al-pine Villa, with A. E. Duke, agricultural counsel for Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho chain stores association as guest speaker. Amplifying his statement on organization policies to be discussed dis-cussed at the meeting, Mr. Gerber Ger-ber said: "We want to make it clear that in releasing a number of these inactive members does not affect any rights under certificates of interest previously issued. These members, when they again become be-come active, may sign new contracts con-tracts with the co-oprative at any time." He explained that releasing of inactive members placed the cooperative co-operative in a position to serve active members better by offering offer-ing more efficiency through the co-op's modern processing plants and marketing facilities. "When we have a definite number of active members to serve, we can plan our operation well in advance and more accurately accur-ately estimate our labor and materials mat-erials needed for various growing grow-ing and processing seasons. "The savings in cost by planning plan-ning and purchasing more efficiently effic-iently comes back to grower-members grower-members in extra profits on their produce," Mr. Gerber add ed. tire wire Tlcnm Never touch a person who has been shocked while he is still in iontact with the electric elrcuit unless un-less you imow how to remove htm from the wire, or the wire from him, without danger to yourself.
