Show FINDING NEW MEW ORE DEPOSITS in iii the last issue of the mini mining ng review under the heading of the prospecting Prospect inq spirit tile the statement was made that undoubtedly many new and important mineral discoveries would be made in sections of the west that had been but little prospected as yet or in inaccessible regions which had pro probably baDly never bet n visited by the prospector As if to verify this statement and even before tile the issue in question was off the press word was received from new mexico of an important discovery made by two mining men who had been lost for several days in the hills and canyons and who in their efforts to reach civilization again had climbed out of a steep canyon and up the sides of a rugged mountain and that they were so fortunate as to discover near the crest of the range an exceptionally strong ledge of gold bearing ore the story as related in the news newspapers goes on to say that the discoverers at once made a number of locations on the ledge and that after finally being able to reach their homes they were able to interest capital in their new find and to such an extent that it is now being developed with every reason to belive that it will take rank in due time as one of the regul regular ar and profitable producers of that section of the west it is true that this was an accidental discovery but this does not invalidate tho the claim we have made that many similar finds will also be made as a result of skillful and well planned prospecting in the many practically virgin fields and so called inaccessible ces sible regions throughout this vast intermountain region and we might add that as rapidly as these discoveries are made ample capital will be forthcoming for their exploitation and development |
