Show HIGHLAND HIGH Dotti Duncan, Reporter Last week at Highland was highlighted by our first "Back-to-School" night. After an opening assembly all the parents went to classes. Another event was the Twenty-first Twenty-first Annual Conference of the American Dairy Assoc. of Utah held November 24 at the Hotel Utah. The name of the program was "Eat Right and be Merry." Judy Stephens and Gae Lynn DeLand were responsible for giving giv-ing a demonstration on making pizza pie while Carolyn Margetts and Sue Griffen were at the display table. Representing Highland on the program were Darla Walker, Margo Taylor, Judy Wood, Barbara Iluber, Karen Dykes and Diane Bodell who sang "Winter Wonderland" Wonder-land" and "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes." Of interest to all sophomores was the results of the try-outs for our basketball team. The following boys made the team: Denny Bonny, Mike Lake, Harold Scoville, Mike Soulier, Bill Showell, Don Major, Gene Frantz, Paul Delany, Mike Ellgren, Robert Gubler, Gary Sargent, Sar-gent, Berry Richards, Paul Vander-werff Vander-werff and Bill Daines. Joe Johnson, John-son, basketball coach, was in charge of tryouts which were held last week. History was made Tuesday, Dec. 5, when our cornerstone was laid. Student-body officers along with the student council were present. The Highland High School band participated in the ceremonies. |
