Mayor Howard Miller and the Escalante City Council have approved a proclamation officially official-ly recognizing Constitution Week, Sept. 17 through 23. Local DAR member Harriet Priska encouraged the council to adopt the official proclamation to remind local citizens of Constitution Con-stitution Week. "Sept. 17 through 23 commemorates com-memorates the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America. This guardian of liberties lib-erties established by our Republic as a self-governing nation dedicated dedica-ted to rule by law. "We should use this next week to laud the achivements of those courageous men who, 210 years ago, struggled to balance a limited government with the rights, privileges and responsibilities responsibil-ities of American citizenship," Priska said.
