Show Tropic News By Louise Ott 679-8776 Danny, Wendy Birnkerhoff and family were in Salt Lake City to see Waylon off to Chili for his mission, Florence and Mondell Syrett were there also. Jaycee Lee Shapespear received her name and blessing by her father Dennis Shakespear with her mother Brenda and brothers, others in attendance were; Wade, Sheri Linn, and Taylor Ramsay from Monroe; Martin, Carla Ramsay and children; Vance Jeannene Pollock and children; grandparents, Clair and Mary Lee Ramsay from Tropic; Lillian Shakespear; Great grandmother Rhoda Shafer from Henrieville; Donna Metcalfe Travis and Tami Shakespear. Jaycee was blessed in the Tropic ward so that all of those special people could be in attendance. There was a Great Aunt and Uncle Yard and Voi Sorensen from Orderville. Kami Syrett and Mike Stevenson were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, Kami's parents the Rod Syrett's were in attendance. Berdell, Carma, Scott, Marrie, Brant Shannon Barton and families were in attendance in Circleville for the blessings of Megan and Marissa Heaps twin daughters of Connie and Mike Heaps, all of Connie's family, and all of Mike's family were there for the occasion, also Mike was put in the Bishopric. Berdell Barton was in Cedar City helping Jared and Mindy on their new home that is being built in Enoch, they hope to get it finished before any more storms hit. Sara and Agnes Littlefield received word that Garn Olson husband of their sister Rose passed away on Sept. 1 1. Rose is a sister to Wallace Ott also. Stanley Ott remembers when Garn taught music here in Tropic many years ago: Stan learned to play the trumpet . Whenever Garn and Rose would visit there was always a great game of Rook going on and a lot of happy memories. Grandparents day was held at the Bryce Valley Elementary school, those that attended really had a pleasant day learning all that their grandchildren will be learning this year. (See Tropic News On Page 4-A) Tropic News From Page 2-A Joyce, Jody Edwards and girls spent Sunday night with the Stan Ott's, drove out to see the damage that the floods made: Jody video taped it, then Stan and Louise spent two days with them in Enoch, bottled some peaches, and made peach jam. Really enjoyed the grandchildren, visited their son True Ott. Rhett, Brycen, and Nathan Wintch visited over the week-end with the Kent Wintch's. Rhett loves to come and spend time with his parents, to help with the chores that need to be done. Earl and Jacque Slack were in Salt Lake City recently to see son Russell off to Oregon on his mission. Marian Mecham had all of her children here for their sister Ann's funeral. Marian also had her sister Arlene Findlay from Kemmer Wyoming. She came with her son Lynn from Richfield. Arlene visited two other sisters June Shakespear, and Leona Stewart. Kim and Brennan Stewart from Cedar City were here to help grandfather Max Stewart celebrate his birthday. Phillis said that she helped Trevor and Jennifer move from Cedar City to Kanab, Trevor will be working on a farm, Jennifer will be able to do her student teaching there. Merrilee Mecham had her car used for joy riding recently, guess that is a lesson for all of us that we need to be more careful about where we leave our car keys. About fifteen miles were added onto the mileage. Thankful that there wasn't any damage done to the car. Jean Syrett is having therapy in Panguitch, she would love to have visits if anyone has the time to come by. |
