Show Exciting, But Work, Too WEST VALLEY VIEW - Thursday, Jan. Judy Hansen In New Zealand Six Children, Only Three Pregnancies, For The Shobers take time to burp them. Doug is a student at Douglas T. Orchard elementary school, and is involved in football. Big Doug is also a sports fan. is neat and exciting for us. have a basketball team We now and one cheerleader, laughs all are interested and excited about the children. They are Joann Nichelson of Salt Lake, who is 90 years old; Christina Shober, Murray, 91, and William S. Hill, also of Salt Lake, who will be 96 in February. As for the children - the twins were born on November 27, 1981, with David Stanley checking in at 6 lbs. 2 oz. and Aaron James at 4 lbs. in having not only loving grand- - parents, but three parents as well, continued Mrs. great-grand-- It Shober. All three are in their nineties, but -- 12 oz. They were three weeks early but everything was fine, tells their mother. My doctor, John Nelson, was very helpful, and I was able to have a normal delivery, as was also the case with the triplets, she adds. David was able to leave the hospital with his mother, and Aaron came home the very next day. And that is the way it was with the triplets too, said Jackie. I brought one home with me, and the other two came home the very next day. We were so lucky that all the children were healthy, she said. The triplets were born on June 1, 1978, and were five weeks early. Deborah checked in at 4 lbs. 6 oz., Nathan 5 lbs. 6 oz. and Mathew was 4 lbs. 12 oz. They are totally different from each other, tells their mother. Deborah is cute and feisty, and, already shows a tendency to be motherly. Mathew is a very patient, bubbly little guy, but a bit of a loner, and Nathan is more impatient but very friendly. They are just like any other two of them together get kids but three is apt to be a fine, along crowd, she remarked. Deborah and Nathan have dark hair and olive complexions, and - Jackie and Doug Shober are surrounded by their children who 'arrived' by one's, two's and three's. Back row, left to right, are the triplets, Deborah, Mathew and Nathan, 3'i years old; at the side of his Jackie Shober, mother of old Douglas Scott Shober; triplets, Deborah, Nathan and Mathew; and twins, David Stanley and Aaron James. Doug and Jackie Shober are proud and happy parents, and thoroughly enjoy all six of their children - and how many people can have six in just three pregnancies? asks Jackie. Mind you, she said, I couldnt manage without my great husband, he is so good to help, just super, and so pleased with all the mother is older brother Douglas who is nine, and the twins, David and parents are holding the Aaron. In fact, the first thing he bought the two boys when the triplets arrived was a football. But now that we have five boys, hes thinking basketball, said Jackie. Im also lucky to have a wonderful mother and mother-in-lawho are always willing to help, she reports. The pleased grandparents are Ernest and Helen Shober of West Valley City, and Jackies mother, Mrs. Shirley Leland, also of West 10-ye-ar -- MID-WINT- fox4' 0 s FOODS 86lh SOI TH father, Nathan Leland, passed away six months ago, before the twins were born, said Jackie, or he would be here spoiling them too. Our children are very fortunate -- Douglas and Mathew have white hair. And it is the same with the twins, one has dark hair and one has white hair. All six children have blue eyes. Our pediatrician, Dr. Edward Evans, is very pleased with the kids and says they are all doing great, said Jackie. The twins are gaining weight and doing fine. We always hoped for six children, and now we have them. Although there are times when I think maybe it would have been easier to have triplets again, she added. The triplets each want a baby to hold. If one of the twins as much as whimpers, I have three voices saying, Momma, the baby needs you NOW, she laughed. We are just delighted and happy with our family, and feel very blessed to have them, she picnic ham is not actually a ham, but part of the pork shoulder .
