EQUAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITY uniting with the Governors office to sponsor a bill that will return this money to where it rightfully belongs. This has been designated as one of the governors bills and it carries an A priority rating. If we can pass this legislation, it will be a very pivotal event for rural economic development and education. Another concept I important have been involved with is funding for an Area Technical Center (ATC) for district. Over eighty percent of the careers in the future are not going to be college level jobs, but vocational -- Pagcfi technical jobs. We cannot keep ignoring our students who dont wish to pursue a college education, but need additional technical training. A high school diploma is not enough anymore. We must provide advanced training here at home. This ATC could be a flexible program that would operate after normal school hours in high school and college facilities. Courses can be developed to respond to needs community. of ach Funding is needed for instructions and curriculum development. This is a hectic job and I am constantly running out of time to meet with everyone I need to see; but I am learning a great deal and have enjoyed my associations in Salt Lake and in the counties that I represent. Please feel free to contact me if you have a concern, or if I can be of help. I can be reached at 538-122- 2. PTO meeting held at MHS On Thursday, January 20th, a meeting was held to organize a Parent Teacher Organization (pT0) at Monticello High School. A feeling of great need to become involved in chil- drens education prompted about 25 interested parents, teachers, and Principal Crane to come together. Pauline Jensen was elected PTO Chairperson with Katie Hall elected Cochairperson. Jensen outlined many areas of need at the high ol; ,as tuf,rinS- Scholars, Sterling science fair, banquets, behavior, morale and attendance. In the future other areas needing help will also be identified and prioritized. Sign-u- p sheets were for the parents and provided teachers interested in helping in the specific programs. The PTO calls upon all parents of students of Monticello High School to become involved in the PTO. The PTO would greatly appreciate your support in their efforts to have an active volunteer force at Monticello High School.
