The student body raised more than $2,000 for the Make-A-Wish foundation of Utah. The event, held annually at the school, gives students the opportunity to run a 5K race at the cost of $3. The race, run in the neighborhoods surround ing the school, raises funds for a local youth stricken with a disability to have a "wish" granted. "This has been going on for several years," ninth grade vice president presi-dent Jenessa Taylor said. "We pick a new person to help every year." This year, the students are helping an eight-year old American Fork girl who has Dermatomyasitis, a muscle mus-cle disorder. The disorder has made walking extremely difficult but she is now in remission and doing well according to the school. Her wish is to meet the Disney princesses at Disney World. Students gathered outside out-side of the school at 1 p.m. for the race. They had the option of running or roller blading. The roller bladers made quick work of the course, arriving back in about 10 minutes. The runners took a little longer but the d run went well "Make-A-WiA great organic- 15 really bele they do," Taylor ; Accordmg to J Canyon View doing the charity Z eral years ago ?; student froraV !: hart o " i.iuivc-n- Wish . tion.
