Show r held for accident ITO V ichim many attend services at monroe for active church worker funeral services were held on sunday afternoon in the monroe north ward chapel for mrs mr s alice R newby 37 who was killed in an automobile accident at about thursday near gunnison the fatal accident occurred when mrs newby and four other monroe residents were returning from an excursion to the manti L D S temple the car in which she was riding driven by joseph H jensen and traveling south side swiped a truck and overturned several times in the same accident mr jensen sustained rib fractures and head cuts and bruises mrs john W higgins a broken collarbone and lacerated arm mrs randall nielson lacerated hands and mrs remo bleds gaard arm and body bruises ned of nephi driver of the truck was not injured the services sunday were conducted by bishop lyle asay speakers were H roland and A C lundgreen of the south sevier stake presidency elijah jensen and president R D young of the manti temple musical numbers were jesus lover ofay of my soul sung as a double duet by mrs james brown mrs A C lundgreen mrs spencer eusworth ellsworth and mrs wilford hansen 0 my father and beyond th the smiling by the ward choir directed by mrs lyle asay and a vocal solo face to face by ammon roberts of annabella accompanied compa nied by mrs roy gleave resolutions of respect from the north ward relief society were read by mrs vern president bishop asay made closing remarks the was by W 0 lundgreen the benediction edic tion by nephi wilford hansen dedicated the grave interment being in the city cemetery A large attendance at the services and many beautiful floral tributes bespoke the respect and sympathy of the community pallbearers Pall bearers were ray and john robinson frank hugh newba leonard newby and keith swindle mrs newby was a daughter of john and lora jolley robinson she was born at monroe on atril 6 1898 her marriage to angus took place in the mati manti temple an active L D S church worker mrs newby had served as the president of the relief society and ores president ident of the primary in the north ward as a sunday school worker and at the time of her death was secretary to her husband who was sustained at the last stake conference as president of the stake missionaries she was a home missionary in th ohp ward vard a member of the choir and magazine agent for the relief society surviving mrs newby are her husband three sons R D don ind burns newby two daughters maxine and gwen newby all oj of monroe three brothers tony robinson of washington john robinson of nf elsinore and robin of nf monroe two sisters mrs mrs myrtle kelson of moroni and m mrs rs T swindle of monroe a gr grandfather and jozeph joseph jolley of washington county |
