Show D EATH DEATH OF EARLY PIONEER cyrus E dark clark one of our stalwart pioneers passed away at the family residence at logan wednesday evening mr air dark clark Is the father of ernest E clark and mrs airs leroy D white of this city and has many friends and acquaintances in this vicinity he was born the day of the nauvoo battle sept 13 1845 crossing the plains in 1851 the family were among he first settlers of cache valley where cyrus grew up enduring the hardships and privations incident to the colonizing of a now new country he was an indian interpreter at the early ago age of 17 and helped settle disputes between the indians and whites of cache valley he was always a friend to the red men and counted some among them as his most faithful friends he and Ms his brother jessie were the first to settle clarkston which bears their name his father was first bishop of that place he is survived by his wife mrs sarah J dunn dark clark ten living children 45 grand children and 12 great grand children funeral services will be held in the first ward chapel at logan sunday rt pt twelve |
