Show MINERS CHARGED WITH FRAUD. Nevada Company May be Prosecuted for Evasion of Bullion Tax. Reno, Nev. In recommending to J., F. Bradley, sheriff of Esmeraldo, county, that he levy a.n arbitrary assessment as-sessment against the Pittsburg Silver' Peak Gold Mining company for bullion bul-lion taxes for 1908 and the first quarter quar-ter of 1909, State License and Bullion Bul-lion Tax Agent J. F. Haley, in an open letter to that official, outlines alleged discrepancies in the statements of the company that may result in a great, scandal and posibly form the basis f criminal prosecution. He practically practi-cally charges that the company has. under guise of incorrect and misleading mislead-ing statements of production and net profits of the mine at Blair, Nev.. avoided the payment of thousands of dollars of bullion tax to the state. |
