B Ju tio usually Uy covers ver ten un years years ea s time except except in in- incases cases cases of of extreme lems President Carnahan said the assessment assessment- was excellent excellent- over overall iL rhee college In in coop cooperation ration with the Institutional Council has been preparing preparing preparing ing for th the visit for visit for over a year The main sore spot of the evaluation was the library ary The evaluation team under the direction of Dr Robert Beebe said that the library used what it had to the best possible advantage and the college administration had the Legislature Legislature Legislature Legisla Legisla- ture trying to get funding for the library last January Th The team concurred that the un unwillingness willingness of the lawmakers to realize the problem was one of the main delays with improvement in this area The official report will be prepared and sent back to the college but Vice President of Instruction Max Lowe and Carnahan agreed that the overall evaluation was favorable In commendations the team decided that these areas received excellent assessment 1 a well-prepared well faculty administration tion team dedicated to the goals set by the college concerning service to the community 2 Other commendations went to positive contributions made in creating a learning environment 3 Excellent liaisons between college and business were noticeable and a high level of cooperation between faculty and administration was apparent Also positive improvements in processing registration registration registration reg reg- applications were obvious the committee said The Skills Center received commendation for an example of effort to serve the entire community in educational and related job training something something something some some- thing not as noticeable at other schools Areas of suggested recommendations and some possible improvement where applicable were 1 to become more comprehensive as a school without destroying tradition 2 continue to push for equipment needs 3 college should address the faculty overload problem because it appears excessive 4 transfer agreements need to be made comprehensive between Deans and those of other schools 5 continued work on the severe parking problem Max Lowe Max Lowe Vice President instruction has released a memorandum that addresses the overload problem in this school The pilot project a result of no allocated funds in amounts requested was implemented during this quarter and an evaluation is to be prepared and returned to the Loads Committee for lor reVIew The evaluation is in six major parts including actual contact hours preparation preparation preparation prepa prepa- ration time grading student advising and consultation co hours the teachers teachers have available assignments and over-load over adjustment Some allocation of h hours to support staff may be required The completion n of the Presidents President's report to t the e InstItutIonal C Council uncil echoed c oed Carnahan and Council Chairman John H.
