Show DO YOUR DUTY. BY OASKELL, Fly not duty, up and doing. Is the watchword and the cry; Forward, forward, never falter, Do not from your labor fly. If life's troubles overtake you, Do not pine In idle grief; Up and doing and employment, Soon or late, will bring relief. Do not halt when others pass you, On the highway of this life; Are you worthy? is the question, That should strengthen you in strife, Up and doing, let not sorrow, Take all energy away ; Look but harder in your trouble, Aid will come another day. Life's true heroes are' Its workers, t Not the slothful, or the gay, No success in idle dreaming, Nor reward in senseless play. Help the weak and aid the erring, Turn not innocent from you ; E'er be earnest in your duty, Be ye honest, firm and true. |
