Show LEGION OFFICERS NOMINATED AT MEET TUESDAY Officers for the coming year were nominated at a meeting of the American Legion held Tuesday Tues-day night in the Memorial hall, with Commander John Miller in charge. For commander, Lester Davis and Glen Sumsion were nominated; for first vice-commander, Michael Long and Marcellus Nielson; second sec-ond vice-commander, Mack Whitney Whit-ney and A. Chader; adjutant, Harlan Har-lan Boyer and Harry Pennington; sergeant-at-arms (two to be selected), se-lected), Earl Humes, William Witney, Wit-ney, Heber Cook, and Grant Miner; chaplain, Lee Walker and J. Albert Giles; historian, George Nelson. Program entertainment featured featur-ed a motion picture on the part rubber is playing in defense. Musical Mu-sical numbers were given by Elmo Curtis and his one-man band, and by Roy Leonard and his daughter, Ramona, in the form of vocal solos with guitar accompaniment. It was announced that the following fol-lowing boys would be sponsored to attend the American Legion Utah Boys' State this summer: Don Frandsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Frandsen, sponsored by the American Legion; Melvin Teas-dale, Teas-dale, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Albert Giles, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary; Don Humphrey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Delvon Humphrey, Hum-phrey, sponsored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce; Henry Maiben, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fen-ton Fen-ton Maiben, sponsored by the Chamber, of Commerce; and Lyman Ly-man Rothwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Rothwell, sponsored by the Kiwanis club. |
