Show Averett Yard Leads In Commercial Softball League Richards of the Jaycees and Peirce Of the Averett Yard Hold High Spots In Batting Results The Averett Coal Yard softball club, with four consecutive wins and no losses to date, stamp themselves them-selves as the team to beat in the Commercial soft- ville Garage vs. First Ward, 9:00. The Yard team has romped over all their opponents to date, and are favored to capture the trophy. Tonght's games should afford fans another treat in the softball program, with Mapleton competing against the Jaycees and Springville Spring-ville Garage tangling with the First Warders. With a 50-50 batting average, Ray Richards of the Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce team, and Gordon Gor-don Peirce of the Averett Coal Yard, lead all other contestants in the Commercial league batting line.
