Show Dr. R. G. Frazier Heads Yampa River Expedition, To Start Next Week . : i . . . Dr. ItuHsal 0. Frailer, experienced exper-ienced rlverman, will lead a group of men down the Yampa river on a ten-day trip beginning July 1. Previously Dr. Frazier and companions navigated the Middle Fork of the Salmon, the Colorado and the Green rivers. The expedition will be sponsored by the Deseret News of Salt Lake City. Proxler In winning recognition M -an experienced rlverman and ex ptnt amateur photographer. July 1 Dr. Frazier will lend a party on a ten-day trip on the Yampa river, in northeantrn Utah. . Yampa river, which cuts its way through the rugged canyons of northeastern Utah. The Fragier party will set out on July 1 for archaeloglcal, photographic and fishing jaunt down the river. The trip will be known as the Deseret News expedition, and tni the party besides Dr. Frazier, will be Dr. J.B. Broaddus, known for his radio programs describing the scenery of Utah; Charles KeJley, archaeologist; BUI Fahrni, Alton Hatch of Boulder, Colorado, and Harold (Hack) Miller, News staff, writer. Equipment which has been . . found serviceable on former river trips will be used on the Yampa expedition. Specially - constructed rubber-bottomed boats ' will be used. Leaving Salt Lake, on July 1, the party will stop over at Vernal Ver-nal for the night and travel to Sunbeam, Colo. , the next day. A half hour on the river will see the group into country seldom Visited by man. Jensen, Utah, on the Green river, will be the finishing fin-ishing point of the trip. Dr. Frazier plans to "shoot" hundreds of feet of film, much of V it In color, as a record of the par- k ty's experiences and for the illustrated illus-trated lectures with which he has so often favored local gatherings ; and groups around the utate. Dr. Broaddus will use material he gathers for basis of radio talks. Mr. Kelley hopes to locate" cliff dwellings along the route of the party.
