"Coach Calder did an excellent job but just didn't have the time to give this year that he had last year," Fallon explained. The swim team is currently preparing for an upcoming qualifying qualify-ing meet this weekend in Richfield. "Everyone has been working very hard and the 20 swimmers and divers we take should do quite well." Coach Fallon said. til I' X. "f - .... . - ' ' . iV: ' 'I . imm Hi m" rf-. Julene and Monique ran the offense and Amanda controlled the . inside." Uintah kept the pressure up never allowing Skyline a chance for a run and won going away 58-42. The Utes pressured Skyline into 21 turnovers and 32 shooting from the field while shooting a very respectable re-spectable 2451 (47) from the field and 1015 (66) from the line and turning the ball over 19 times. Amanda Wixom led all scorers with 18 points on 711 shooting and 45 at the line. Monique Reidhead pumped in 12 points followed by Harvey with 11, Anthon with 9 and Fountaine with 7. The win set up the championship game against 4 A power Timpvicw. In the championship game, the Lady Utes streaked out to a first quarter lead of 12-9 using their pressure defense and quickness. But the Thundcrbirds established a rugged game under the basket and by halftime had banged out a 28-22 lead. In the third quarter, the wear and tear of thrcc-games-in-two-nights took its toll as the Utes went flat while the Thundcrbirds continued to bang underneath for second and third attempts on missed shots. The result was a convincing 57-33 victory vic-tory for Timpvicw. "I think the Timpvicw game was a combination of our kids being a little lit-tle tired and Timpview's rugged style of play," Coach Barker explained. ex-plained. "They had some wide bodies bod-ies underneath and some good three point shooters who worked well together. to-gether. All in all, I was very pleased with the effort and way the kids played throughout the tournament" Julene Harvey and Amanda Wixom were named to the All-Tournament All-Tournament team for the Utes. "The other coaches commented on how smoothly the tournament progressed pro-gressed and the support and attitude of the fans," Barker said, "which is a great compliment to our administration adminis-tration and town. These are all teams which play in a lot of these types of tournaments." The Lady Utes take on Fruita this Wednesday at home and then travel to the Soda Springs tournament this weekend.
