Show Aids Hotline Extends Hours r Zo In response to a greater need for confidential information about HIV particularly by youths the Utah AIDS Foundation has added two hours a day to its HotLine schedule The new HotLine hours are 8 am a.m. to 8 pm p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 am a.m. to 2 pm p.m. on Saturday The HotLine is a free information and referral service offered by the agency to all Utah residents All AU calls are l' l completely confidential We receive more than calls per month says Utah AIDS Foundation Executive Director Barbara Shaw This is a 20 percent increase from last year AIDS is the leading cause of death among men in ages 25 to 44 However the incidence of HIV is increasing faster among Utah women than among men The Utah Department of Health estimates up to cases of HIV infection in Utah There is estimated to be 17 million people infected with HIV worldwide and it threatens to extend its reach Those who wish to contact the HotLine should FON AIDS from any where in Utah |
