Show ! Society j Mayor and Mrs. J. W. Jones were host and hostess to the Tuesday Evening Even-ing . club at their home Wednesday night of this week and Progressive Five Hundred, and a delicious luncheon 'at 10 o'clock, proved the enjoyable features of the evening. Mrs. Fred : Jones and Kiel Sorenson were winners of the prizes offered. Mrs. Jones was assisted by her mother Mrs. R. H. Winder of Salt Lake. o Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Lnnd of Center-field Center-field delightfuly entertained, some thirty-five friends at their home last , S iturday complimentary to Mrs. Lund's father, J. B. Carlsen of May-field. May-field. It was Mr. Carlsen's 90th anniversary anni-versary and the feature of the gathering gather-ing was the elaborate supper served at 4 o'clock. During the evening music, games and other amusements were en-j en-j iyed and not withstanding the advanc- j ed age of Mr. Carlsen, he joined with ' the rest and immensely enjoyed the party. The members of the Bonne Foi club were the guests of Mrs. Ira Overfelt yasterday af ternorn. During the need-lecraf need-lecraf t work Mrs. N. L. Sorenson gave an interesting reading entitled "When We Think We Are a Failure," taken from the book "Pushing to the Front." At five o'clock the hostess served refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Hagan were host and hostess to a New Year's day dinner party at which some sixteen guests Were invited. Jt was a family fam-ily affair and relatives, together with a few invited guests, enjoyed a delightful de-lightful time. Dinner was served 5 o'clock. At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Al-bert Swain last Sunday, a family reunion re-union of the Swains was held, the first in twenty years. All of the immediate relatives living in Gunnison, Gun-nison, together with those from distant dis-tant points, comprising twenty-five in all, were present at the reunion. An elaborate dinner was served at 2 o'clock and the gathering proved one of much enjoyment. Those from outside points were Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Swain of Wayan, Idaho, and ,Mr. and Mrs. Ted Smitih of Idaho Falls, Idaho. o Miss Nora Wesier, who is visiting visit-ing here from Council Bluffs, Iowa, was the special guest of the Royal Neighbor society at the home of Mrs. Libby Peterson last Friday afternoon. after-noon. Miss Wesier is a member of the organization and was quite active ac-tive in the work when living here and on the occaion of her visit! was tendered a reception by the members. mem-bers. For the occasion, the several members provided a delicious luncheon lunch-eon which was served at 5 o'clock. Progressive Five Hundred was played during the afternoon and Mrs. Belle McKenna and Mrs. Ira Overfelt were awarded the favors. Some fifteen friends invaded the home of Mrs. William Bardsley last Friday afternoon and tendered the latter a pleasant surprise, the occasion occa-sion being her anniversary. An elaborate elab-orate supper was served at 4 o'clock. Guests were present from Centerfield and Gunnison. |
