The camp provides five days of recreational, medical and counseling services as well as food and lodging for approximately 75 victims of Cystic Fibrosis. Most camp participants range in age from 8 to 15 years. Children with Cystic Fibrosis inherit the disease, a disease which creates serious complications in the respiratory system and gastro intestinal tract causing obstruction and scarring. Medical science, to date, has been able to prolong life to an average of 19 years. Statistics tell us that this year's summer camp will be the last one for 8 to 10 of the 75 participants. Because of the problems brought about by Cystic Fibrosis for the child and their family, the week-long camp is extremely beneficial to both the child and the parents. The camp gives an opportunity for youngsters to be away from home in a controlled environment where medical attention is available, and at the same time provides an enjoyable experience in a camp setting. The Annual CF camp is made possible by volunteers and generous donors who provide funds to help one or more children with expenses. The cost of sending one child to camp is $70. We would like you to sponsor one or more children, but we will accept whatever you may be able to afford. Donations can be sent to the CF.
