Show Ladies Literary Club Holds Business Meet Members of the Ladies Literary club, under direction of the retiring re-tiring officers, met Tuesday evening even-ing a hoetthem ing at the home of Mrs. Paul K. Walker, for a business meeting. Mrs. Claude A. Smith, retiring president, was in charge of the" meeting which began with a piano selection, "Spring" given by Miss June Thorn. Mrs. W. H. Brown, retiring secretary, read a letter of appreciation from the Utah County Youth Home committee, thanking the club for the contribution contri-bution of $25 which they made to the home recently. The financial report was also given. It was decided during the evening even-ing also to contribute $25 to the art and make it a project to contribute con-tribute a similar amount each year. The meeting was then turned over to the new president, Mrs. E. T. Crandall, who expressed appreciation ap-preciation for the work of the retiring re-tiring officers and asked Mrs. Oliver Dalton, program chairman, to explain the program for the year. Mrs. Dalton also passed out the new club books. The first meeting of the club year was announced for September Septem-ber 24, at the home of Mrs. Glen Sumsion, first club president, in the form of a 25th anniversary dinner party. All former members of the club will be invited as special spe-cial guests. The meeting closed with light refreshments, the retiring officers, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Paul Thorn, Mrs. E. T. Crandall, Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Brown as hostesses. |
