Show "Surpise" Ladies Night For Lions Wednesday night was "surprise ladies night" at the Milford Lions club dinner meeting. Needless to say, after the appearance of the ladies (as an unexpected feature to most of the Lions present) there were few heavy business matters attended to, discussion drifting generally in the direction of bigger and better mosquitoes for Milford and the desirablity of having a stop light system similar to that recently installed in Beaver but for the proper . handling .qf dog traffic in the case of Milford. Another surprise of the dinner was the appearance of a large birthday cake in front of Lion J. R. Murdock jr., as the dinner came to a close, the cake being cut in enough pieces to serve each person present. E. L. Smith, as a member of the Lions club membership committee, presented J. E. Wilson, railroad man and new Beaver county commissioner, com-missioner, as a new member of the club. After the dinner and an extemporaneous extem-poraneous program of songs, jokes and stories, most of those present adjourned to the Milford hotel dining din-ing room where time was devoted to dancing. |
