Show New Year's Party, On Now Year's day Bishop Thos. Taylor of the 14th ward, the Sabbath Sab-bath School superintendents and number of ladies of the ward got up a picnic in the assembly rooms, at which there were two hundred c bil-dren bil-dren and more than that number of parents and friends present. After the tables were "spread-and they were bountifully supplied with choice edibles ed-ibles the children recited dialogues, gave recitation, sang songs, etc. At noon Elder John Taylor delivered a brief, appropriate address, after which the little ones sat up and enjoyed en-joyed the feast with good relish. A table was then Bet for the parents and invited guests. When the feast was disposed of the tables were removed and from that time until midnight Clayton's band discoursed gratituous music, the young and old enjoying themselves in tlje dance. The affair was voted a great success, and New Year's 1874, will long bo remembered remember-ed by those who were present. |
