The following is a resolution adopted by gthc Plymouth Church, in the Bowen ease: Resolved Resolv-ed that the report of the examining committee and the statement of the clerk of the church concerning the case of Brother Henry C. Bowcu, be entered upon the minutes, and in view of the facts therein set forth the charges be dismissed, and the examining exam-ining committee be discharged from further consideration of the case. Brooklvn. to-night, the clerk of the church read communications from the joint committee com-mittee of the church of the Pilgrims and Clinton Avenue church, in reference refer-ence to the recent action ol Plymouth church in the Tilion-Beecher matter. At the retjiiestof Mr. Beech-er, Beech-er, the reply which he bad written to the communications was then read. He admits of a difference between the Congregationalism of Plymouth Church and other Cong.egational churches, and claims that the foundation foun-dation of rivmouLh was Hcrted to pjotest against the denomination of Congregational nimiste.s, which had excited profound indignation among tho members of Congregational churches in the city of New York at the time. riymouth Church has been governed by a majority o( the members, while in neither of the other two churches has ever been heard the voice of the brotherhood in open or called assembly. |
